Bolton Learning Partnership Annual Conference 2025: Leading with Purpose

On Thursday 19 and Friday 20 June 2025, the Bolton Learning Alliance held its annual conference under the theme ‘Leading with Purpose.’ The event brought together school leaders, educators, and partners to reflect, connect, and deepen their commitment to improving outcomes for the 19,000 children and young people across Bolton.

Topics included Building Learning Futures Together: Research–Practice Collaboration to Create Rich, Rewarding Life Chances and Opportunities for the 19K, which explored the importance of integrating evidence-based research with practical experience to shape meaningful learning opportunities. Writing Stories – A Human Curriculum for an Artificial World, examined the emotional and cognitive power of storytelling within education, highlighting the essential role of the human element in curriculum design.

The conference also addressed digital transformation in education through a presentation on implementing digital strategies in an AI-driven context. This session offered valuable insight into harnessing technology thoughtfully to support both learning and leadership. Leadership development was further supported by discussions emphasising the need to step beyond comfort zones to foster growth and success, reminding attendees that leadership is shaped by belief and intention.

Throughout the conference, the theme of #ambitiouscollaboration was evident, demonstrating how collective effort and shared vision are driving positive change for the 19K learners across Bolton.
