Empowering Leadership in Education
Bolton offers a range of leadership development programmes designed to support educators at every stage of their career including the:
Aspiring Leaders Programme (Autumn 2024 – Spring 2026): Aimed at teachers and support staff ready to take on their first leadership roles, this programme provides essential skills and tools to lead with confidence. Participants are assigned a learning coach and will work on a ‘passion project’ to implement in their schools. 22 individuals are currently enrolled, and a second cohort will begin next Autumn.
Into Deputy Headship Programme: Tailored for those aiming for deputy head roles, this programme focuses on advanced leadership competencies and includes a school-wide project. Participants also receive personal coaching to prepare them for their next career step. There are 6 participants currently enrolled.
Into Headship Programme: This programme, designed for those aspiring to headteacher roles, had no uptake in the Autumn term but will be re-advertised in the new year.
Each of these programmes equips participants with the skills and mentorship needed to take on greater leadership responsibilities in schools, making a real impact on education in Bolton.
