Celebrating Bolton’s SEND Inspection Success

We are thrilled to share the fantastic news that Bolton has recently received a glowing report following its area-wide SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) inspection. Over the course of three weeks, inspectors carefully assessed the quality of SEND provision across the town, visiting schools, meeting with staff and stakeholders, and thoroughly examining all areas of support for young people with SEND.

The results of the inspection were outstanding, with Bolton receiving the highest possible grade for its SEND services. This is especially significant given the current national challenges in SEND provision, where many areas are facing difficulties. Bolton’s achievement stands as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration across our schools and services.

Bolton schools played a crucial role in the success of the inspection. Staff worked tirelessly to demonstrate their commitment to providing high-quality education and support for all students. Inspectors were impressed by the inclusive ethos across the town and the ongoing efforts to ensure that every child, regardless of need, receives the best possible opportunities.

To celebrate this achievement, a special event was held at the Town Hall, where Sandra Bruce, Interim Director of Children’s Services, and Geraldine Whitehead, Assistant Director for Inclusive Education, expressed their heartfelt thanks to all those involved. Both leaders praised schools, educators, and local services for their unwavering dedication and collaboration in ensuring that Bolton’s young people thrive.

This recognition reflects the strength of our community and the collective effort to create a truly inclusive education system. Bolton should be proud of this exceptional achievement, and we look forward to continuing to build on this success for the benefit of all young people in our town.
