Religious Education/Religious Studies Leads Network Meeting
We had our first Religious Education/Religious Studies Leads Network Meeting on 19th January at Bolton Science & Technology Centre. During the session Ed Kirk, Associate Deputy Principal, at Thornleigh Salesian College and Somers Khan, Head of RE at Smithills School delivered training on ‘Effective Curriculum Design’. The training has been developed by our Bolton team which is led by ex HMI Linda Emmett.
Participants received key messages, training and support on inspiring success for every child through the planning and delivery of a knowledge rich curriculum in Religious Education. They also had the chance to discover some key misconceptions of curriculum design and how to avoid them. The session provided participants with greater insight into curriculum design that they can now use when developing RE/RS curriculum.
